History of Fruit Wine Awards

In 2009 the Cairns Show Association re-introduced the Australian Fruit Wine Awards with the assistance of the Queensland State Government to encourage and support Fruit Winemakers regionally and nationally. These awards were held concurrently with the Cairns Show Wines Awards and were very favourably received. The event has attracted entrants from as far as New Zealand.

The Cairns Show Wine Awards and Australian Fruit Wine Awards are conducted by the Cairns Show Association which is a privately funded, membership based, not-for-profit organisation.
