History of the Cairns Show Wine Awards
Background
The inaugural Cairns Show Wine Awards presented by the Cairns Agricultural, Pastoral and Mining Association (CAPMA) took place in 1992 and have been held continually since that date.
Originally conceived as a regional event aimed at promoting and celebrating the exceptional quality of wines in the Far North region of Queensland, the Awards quickly gained recognition within the Australian wine industry.
Over the years, the Cairns Show Wine Awards expanded its scope to include wines from across Australia and New Zealand.

The Event
The Cairns Show Wine Awards has become a feature on the Australian Wine Industry Calendar in June each year, and are held as part of the lead up to the Cairns Show.
