Public Tasting
Thank you once again to Regional Insurance Brokers for Sponsoring this years Wine Awards and Public Tasting!
The focus of the show is not only to award Trophies and Medals to exceptional wines but also to promote the show in the local wine market and assist wineries with exposure in the region. After judging has finished the public are invited to attend our annual public tasting held at the Showgrounds.

What to Expect
Expect more than 500 wines across various styles from Sparkling to Fortified. Upon entry each patron will receive a free Souvenir glass to keep and a Results Catalogue with details of medal winning wines to help you pick out your favourites. Each patron will also have the chance to enter to win our lucky door prizes as well as attend the Free Wine Appreciation course held throughout the day. Whilst you swirl, smell and taste your way through the many wines on offer be sure to also visit our exhibitor's sites for some extra tasty treats. Cheeses, dips, breads and olives to cleanse the palate between tasting will be available as well as a cash bar for soft drinks.
Wine Appreciation Courses
Wine appreciation courses are a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight in to how to understand wines. This year's appreciation courses will be run by Senior Judge Bart Foley, Beer and Wine Critic, Cairns. Bart has been judging withing the Wine Awards for the past 4 years.
Wine Appreciation courses will run at approximately 4pm and 5pm but will announce session times closer to the event and are announced at the event Each session runs for approximately 20 mins. This is a valuable course and gives a fantastic overview of what to look for in wine.
